Course Description

Estheticians are specialists who provide skincare services focusing on the health and appearance of skin. The Esthetician program is designed to prepare students to become a licensed Esthetician in North Carolina. The curriculum provides competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles and hands-on fundamentals associated with the art of skin care. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills.

Students must complete at least 600 hours of an esthetician curriculum in an approved cosmetic art school. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates should be prepared to take the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Arts Licensing Exam. Upon passing, licensed graduates will qualify for employment in salons, spas, wellness clinics, or private offices.
