Course Description

In this course, you’ll explore the basics of digital media and how it’s used today. You’ll learn about important terms, new technologies, popular media formats, and how digital media is designed. We’ll also talk about careers in the field and the ethical choices professionals face. By the end, you’ll be able to identify and work with different types of digital media.

Course Outline

Students will:

  • Use the computer as a fundamental design and production tool.
  • Use the computers at an intermediate level or proficiency and image editing and page layout software to perform design work.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of computer graphics and chose the most appropriate format, file type and resolution for specific design tasks.
